CHRISTIE FARMER
AKA Graduate Fellow
Christie Farmer is a proud member of the Blackfeet Nation dedicated to serving her community. Currently, Christie contributes to our community's growth and development as a Human Resource Assistant at Blackfeet Community College. Her journey in education has been one of commitment and passion. In 2023, she earned a BSW degree in Social Work from the University of Montana School of Social Work, building upon my foundation established with an AA degree in Social Work and Addiction Studies in 2021 from the Blackfeet Community College.
Throughout her educational pursuits, Christie has been driven by a deep sense of purpose – to uplift and empower those within her community. This dedication is rooted not only in her academic achievements but also in her personal experiences and values. Her internship with the Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council Epidemiology under the Public Health Workforce Expansion in Indian Country provided invaluable insights into addressing addiction services on the Blackfeet Reservation, a cause close to her heart.
Above all, Christie's journey is a testament to the unwavering support of her family and the profound importance of education within Indigenous communities. Their encouragement and guidance have fueled her determination, shaping her into the advocate and leader she is today. Christie is deeply grateful for their sacrifices and commitment to her growth, which continue to inspire her in her pursuit of serving and uplifting our community.
